    Acceptable documents:

    To legally supply number plates we are required to see the original documents that:

      • prove your name and address

      • show you’re allowed to use the registration number

    Please provide a document from both Part 1 and Part 2 below:

    Part 1: Identity documents

    You can use the following to confirm your name and address:

      • driving licence

      • utility, Council Tax or rates bill from the last 6 months

      • bank or building society statement from the last 6 months

      • national identity card

    The following will confirm your name only:

      • passport - does not have to be issued in the UK

      • bank or building society debit or credit card

      • police warrant card

      • armed forces identity card

    The law permits purchasing number plates as gifts, thus the ID document does NOT need to match the registration entitlement documentation.

    Part 2: Proving you can use the registration number

    You must bring one of the following to show you’re allowed to display the registration number:

      • vehicle registration certificate (V5C or V5CNI)

      • green ‘new keeper’ slip from the V5C or V5CNI

      • certificate of entitlement (V750 or V750NI) to the number

      • retention document (V778)

      • a renewal reminder for vehicle tax or SORN (V11 or V11NI)

      • temporary registration certificate (V379 or V379NI)

      • a number plate authorisation certificate (V948) with an official stamp from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA)

      • an electronic number plate authorisation certificate (eV948 or eV948/2)

      • a letter of authorisation from a fleet operator (including lease or hire company) quoting the document reference number from the registration certificate

      • if your fleet is in the new V5C on demand scheme (also called ‘V5C suppression’), a PDF of the vehicle’s details from the view vehicle record service

      • UK trailer registration certificate (VTRC)

    Tinted plates are sold strictly as show plates. By choosing tinted plates you are acknowledging the fact that they are not legal plates and are ONLY show plates.

The shape of the Lambo-style plate provides a quirky but aesthetic feel and look to your car, regardless of whether it is a Lamborghini or not! Don’t be put off by the name ‘Lambo-Plate’, as you can see below they aren’t exclusive to Lambo owners – it’s just an industry name.

Do we make Hex-plates?

Yes. Each Lambo shaped number-plate is professionally manufactured by our in-house team, the plates are designed with cutting-edge laser technology and styled by our design team. We are happy to accept ‘personal’ requests in regards to the design of the plate – just get in touch with our customer service who will be more than happy to help you out.

Are they legal?

Here at Number1Plates, we pride ourselves on the fact that every plate we send out is 100% road legal and MOT acceptable. As a DVLA registered company, we ensure our customers that they can feel safe and happy when ordering through us. Of course with different styles and different opinions it can be quite confusing as to whether a plate style is legal or not. Luckily, the Hex-plate is one of the many that IS legal!

Can I have 3D or 4D letters on my Hex number plate?

The simple answer is; yes! We have a whole range of different fonts and text styles for you to choose from. Whether you’re looking to make your plate stand out even more with some 4D Gels, or would rather go for a more discreet look with standard printed text. If you’re ever unsure about what you can or can’t have, get in touch with us and we can advise you.

Can I purchase them from Laser Plates?

Of course! We’re really excited to launch our Lambo style plates and can’t wait to see them on your cars. The new style is something we’ve had in the pipeline for a while and we can finally reveal them to you all! Warranty

All plates are supplied with 12 months warranty covering manufacturing defects or naturally occurring issues. The warranty does not cover customer inflicted faults. Please note BSAU145e regulations recommend using sticky adhesive pads to attach the number plates to the vehicle. For any warranty issues please contact us via the contact us page or email.

Quality Control

A stringent quality control process ensures that all components used to manufacture the number plates meet our high quality standard. All components used to manufacture the plates are British manufactured and of the highest quality. The number plates are manufactured from UV-resistant components designed to not fade in the sunlight.

Number plates are an unusual shape item to deliver so we've done everything we can to keep delivery costs as low as possible.

Road legal plate styles:

Please note BSAU145e regulations require our company name, postcode and BSAU number to be printed on the plate. The font used for all plates also complies with the regulations.

DVLA has confirmed that three-dimensional plates (3D & 4D) are road legal and comply with all road regulations. 4D plates are an industry standard name but are classed as three-dimensional according to the law.

To sell legal number plates we must be provided with two types of documents.
